The Government has announced the first 3 priority areas for its Deregulation
Taskforce, being food exporters, major infrastructure projects and small business
employees.
Labour hire agencies in fruit industry targeted by ATO
The ATO has visited sites linked to labour hire agencies supplying workers in the
fruit industry in Queensland as part of the ATO’s efforts to deter black economy
operators.
ATO continues to support flood-affected Queenslanders
The ATO will continue to support those affected by the North Queensland floods in
early 2019 as part of a whole-of-government effort to help people get back on their
feet.
Whistleblower policies: ASIC draft guidance
ASIC has released a consultation paper and guide on the obligation requiring
companies and superannuation trustees to implement a whistleblower policy by 1
January 2020.
ATO ‘black economy’ visit to businesses in Port Macquarie region
The ATO is planning to visit about 500 businesses in the Port Macquarie and
Wauchope region in late July and early August as part of its strategy to deal with the
black economy.
